Urban Science Initiative Inc., creates Partnerships for Science
By Angelique Marin

The Urban Science Initiative, Inc. mission is to provide high quality, thought provoking educational and entertaining programs in astronomy, meteorology, oceanography, robotics, and space science. USI Inc., seeks to advance the understanding of the world and universe in which we live and to stimulate curiosity, inspire science learning in everyone by creating fun, memorable experiences. We value science as an indispensable tool for understanding our world and enriching our lives.

USI has developed active working partnerships with several corporations that value Science education and community
as we do. These partnerships provide valuable support for Amazing Skies and other science focused events that are
produced by USI Inc. Producing these events would be difficult without the help of these community minded corporations.

We currently produce Amazing Skies in San Antonio, McAllen and Brownsville. We also produce WeatherQuest in Brownsville and San Antonio. Our ocean science program Oceanarium is produced in Corpus Christi.

spacestation

The International Space Station (ISS) is the largest international scientific project ever conceived. Built by the United States, Russia, Japan, Canada, and 11 European countries, the station is powered by solar arrays that will generate 110 kilowatts of power once completed. Laboratory and habitation modules will support a permanent international crew of seven astronauts. ISS will serve as a platform for Earth and space observation and the experiments conducted on board will help produce new materials and pharmaceutical products, which can only be developed in microgravity.
