Amazing Skies Presenters set to WOW their audiences!
By Angelique Marin

The Urban Science Initiative, Inc. has brought together an exciting group of presenters for Amazing Skies.
The featured speaker for the event will be NASA Astronaut, Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger. Mrs. Metcalf-Lindenburger
is a former teacher and was selected by NASA as an astronaut candidate in 2004. Look for Dr. Phil Dukes and his
amazing 3D imagery show to make an exciting return to the program. Dr. Dukes wowed the Amazing Skies audience
at our last event. He says he'll have a new show that promises to be spectacular. Ever wonder how a comet is made?
Carol Lutsinger, NASA envoy will bring the world of comets a bit closer with a "comet" building hands-on presentation
that will keep kids talking for days!

Thinking about getting a telescope for your own star party? There will be plenty of telescopes provided by the Rio Grande Valley Astronomical Association and information sessions about them, a Telescopes 101 for everyone. Be
sure to join in and learn all about those amazing scopes!

spacestation

The International Space Station (ISS) is the largest international scientific project ever conceived. Built by the United States, Russia, Japan, Canada, and 11 European countries, the station is powered by solar arrays that will generate 110 kilowatts of power once completed. Laboratory and habitation modules will support a permanent international crew of seven astronauts. ISS will serve as a platform for Earth and space observation and the experiments conducted on board will help produce new materials and pharmaceutical products, which can only be developed in microgravity.
